We are excited to launch our latest collaboration: the KUYICHI X ANTOINE PETERS collection. We love Antoine Peters‘ positive view on the world and his conscious and exploring design approach. Great fit! The Dutch designer created a complete top collection for Kuyichi, celebrating our heritage and our common love for sharing optimism with the world. Let’s dig a bit deeper into this collection, shall we? Want to check it out before reading further? Shop this collection here!
‘Spreading optimism through a sustainable design’
The biggest inspiration for this collection was a deep dive into Kuyichi’s 19 years old heritage. What many people don’t know, is that Kuyichi is actually the name of the ancient Peruvian God of the rainbow (read more about it here). He is valued for bringing positivity and colour to society, something that we’re trying to do as well in the fashion industry. We’re thankful for Antoine Peters for bringing this thought back into our brand, by using it as the base of this collection. The collection consists of timeless and super comfy everyday tops – made in the same quality and with the high sustainability standards that you’re used to from us, but with a playful and optimistic twist through conscious design choices.
Somewhere over the rainbow
Antoine brought back the rainbow in a subtle way by subtly using them in the designs of the sweats. Some designs literally contain a bow from sleeve to sleeve, by pulling the side seam forward. Others contain multiple colours of the rainbow in one thread. Or you could spread the love together by wearing our rainbow duo tees (both for men and women)!
Show how it’s done
Every item in this collection is entirely made with love. It went through a lot of hands before it will end up in someone’s wardrobe and a lot of effort has been put into it. That’s why Antoine made the seams more visible in some items: “There has been put so much effort into it, why would you hide this craftsmanship? These seams tell a great story after all!”
The power of the plus
We stand for positivity. The plus as a symbol means a lot to us – it’s even in our logo. This collection contains a lot of plusses, put into it in several ways. Some extra added seams subtly form a cross on tees and longsleeves. Want to share some positivity in a more outspoken way? Try our Positivitee (for men and women) with stripes and plusses!
